The Microbirrificio Lambrate is the first brewery in Milan and its original name was Skunky. It is a rustic and modest. It was born in Lambrate in 1996 thanks to the help of four friends Davide, his father Franco (Agronomist Engineer with specialization in the Science of Food, professor at the University of Milan), Fabio and Giampaolo. Their idea was to create a meeting place for young people less comprehensive, less alienated, more authentic than the normal ones. That is why the real speciality is the beer which is not pasteurized and  which is producing by theirselves. There are different types of beer such as “The clear one” , “The red one”, “The amber one” and “the double malt one”, a blend of Belgian malt, hops and yeast German English, the second produced an old Bavarian recipe.
Going from the idea to the fact was not easy but with the support of specialists, with passion and with work they have great successes.

Sushi Bar…history

November 26, 2008

sushi

The origins of Sushi are quite uncertain and hence those of the sushi bar. The most widespread opinion is that it has been led by Buddhist monks returned from China in the seventh century. It was only around 1820 that appeared to Edo (Tokyo) the recipe closest to the sushi of our times. Hanaia Yonei is the creator of nigirizushi. He was the first to serve on its bench roll of rice flavoured with vinegar over slices of raw fish. The sale of sushi is  fascinating as a cultural phenomenon and as a way of doing business. The sushi was mainly sold on the street. A curious thing was the white tent set at stalls whom customers could clean their hands after having the sushi lunch. A unerring system to find the best retailer was to watch the tent: more was dirty, the place was more popular and therefore the best sushi was served there.

2. Let’s go on

October 20, 2008
17th century

When the Turkish troops were defeated in Wien in 1683, the coffee house arrived in Europe. In Wien we can see the first proto-bar, which place consists of coffee, sweets and drinks. After Wien, Paris and Venice became places of bars, meeting and leisure.

Paris

The oldest coffee house of Paris is certainly the “Café Procope”, 13, rue de l’Ancienne-Comédie, 6e, M° Odéon, opened in 1685 by the italian Procopio Coltelli.

Venice

The “Cafè Florian” is one of the most ancient bar in Venice and it was opened in 1720.

Milan

Long long time ago , in Italy, one of the pillar of the culture of the peninsula developed, sip by sip … the bar.
Milan, the city.
18th century, the context.
From buvette to bar city, Piazza Duomo saw the history of public spaces, through sips of Bitter and Rhubarb .

The proto-bar

The only beverage offered is Turbolin, a kind of coffee first boiled and then strained, due to the fact that coffee machines did not exist at that time. People drank chocolate, the Barbajada, the Agher, made of lemon and tamarind, barley water, Marsala and syrups, like cherry jam.
The first cafe was opened in Milan in “Corsia dei Servi”, at the “Pescherie”, under the “portico Figini”: nearby the Duomo. The coffee pioneers were mostly from Lake Maggiore, Lugano and from Veneto.
